  I don't write a significant amount of reviews but when I do the restaurant is either extremely good or extremely horrible, in this case, its horrible. I can't speak for the Capital Blvd location, but for the Pleasant Valley location I have much to say.
  My boy and I checked out the place online looked at the menu and decided to call and see if they did take out, we reached a lady and she said they do not do take-out, so we decide okay, we will drive 30 minutes out of our way and check them out, you know the menu looks great, the reviews are great, the price is a bit high but we are willing to pay for good Thai food, we love it.
  
  We arrive and there is no hostess so we stand and wait and look at the daily specials to kill time, finally a hostess arrives and in a heavy accent says, "you here for take-out?" Immediately I look at my bf and as we are being seated I say, "well I guess they lied to us on the phone" but we figured maybe the waitress/es need the tips and we already drove all that way so we decide to stay.
  To make a long story short, the service was mediocre. We had to ask for basics like utensils, a second mug for the tea we ordered, water--she didn't put the lemon like we asked, and napkins.
  We ordered 3 rolls of sushi, 2 appetizers, and my bf ordered Pad Thai and I the green veggie curry. The apps were okay, I've had much better, the sushi was okay, the curry and the noodles were disgusting. I guess if you eat at an "okay" place enough it can seem like a good restaurant but I'm not one of those folks, especially when the price is way above the grade level of the service and the food. There was so much shaved damn shallots and ginger in my curry that it tasted more like dirt considering it was also gritty. I love curry and always finish it, I took three bites and I had to stop. To add insult to injury, the waitress overcharged us I noticed but was tired and my bf brushed it off because we just wanted to get out of there, but the waitress did not do the bogo sushi like it stated on the daily special board and as she herself stated, but instead charged us for all three rolls at full price too, even though she said that the specialty sushi was half-off and the regular sushi was buy-one get-one. I'm bothered because I can't stand false marketing or advertisement, this is not a 4.1 star restaurant, trust me, I know what 5-star service is and this is far from it. Sawasdee Thai Restaurant & Bar's HONEST REVIEW is more of a 2.0 and even then, I'm being too nice, because for the next two days after we ate there, I was sick with nausea, stomach aches, and headaches and my poor bf got it worse, he broke out in hives all over! It was so bad we had to leave the house in the middle of the night to purchase benadryl from a 24hr Harris Teeter. I do not understand why the reviews all add up to 4.1 and I found myself asking that question as I sat and ate at the restaurant feeling bamboozled. Either Raleigh folk don't know what good is or half of the reviews are bullshit.
