  I have dined here over a dozen times... and this is one of my favorite places for special events. I much prefer hosting co-workers here for drinks then for dinner... largely do to difficulty with securing a table on short notice. Plan on a casual, informal dinner... with good food and service.

  All the food we got was excellent and exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere was very intimate and unique. The wait staff was great in checking drinks and answering any questions we had. Really liked the lemon/lime/grapefruit mixture you receive at the end of the meal to cleanse your palette.
  
  I highly recommend getting the crispy pork belly soup. The soup was full of flavor and very filling.

  Bida Manda has authentic and delicious Laotian food. Perfect for a fabulous lunch or celebrating a special occasion at dinner. They have a few vegetarian options as well. Try the pumpkin curry, it is outstanding!
  The owners are also very nice, they gave us a dessert with candles when they found out we were celebrating an anniversary!

  Simply put: This is the best restaurant in Raleigh. I provide the following anecdote as an example. I brought my parents here, and my father is a notoriously picky eater when it comes to anything not " traditional American." He was skeptical of Bida Manda. However, after he delighted in his Laotian dinner, he has truly fallen in love with SE Asian cuisine. In the two months since they returned home from Raleigh, my parents (at my father's direction) have eaten at no less than ten different SE Asian restaurants in Baltimore and DC. So, in this case, it's no exaggeration to say that Bida Manda was a life altering experience. You probably won't have an experience that amazing, but you'll be more than happy at the end of your meal.
